This trick is probably one of the best prediction card tricks whilst also being one of the simplest to learn.
Your volunteer is asked to shuffle the cards and then asked to take away any 12 from the pack and then shuffle them well. Whilst your volunteer is doing this you note the card that lies at the bottom of the pack then take a piece of paper and write down this “prediction” of the final card. Your volunteer now takes any four cards from his selection and lays them down in a row face up, the remaining eight cards are put at the bottom of the rest of the pack. ( This leaves your prediction card ninth from the bottom of the pack).
At this point you count the value of those that have been placed face up, ie, if those four cards are the three of hearts, eight of clubs, king of diamonds and six of spades and then the value is 27 and you need to remember this number.

Using the remaining pack the volunteer is asked to deal cards from it onto each of the 4 piles bringing the count for each pile to 10. For example, if the first card on the pile is the three of hearts then seven cards are dealt on to that pile. If the second pile is the eight of clubs then two cards are dealt from the pack on to the top. If the third pile is a picture card then that is counted as 10 and no cards are dealt on to the top of this pile.
Now all you have to do is count down from the remaining pack 27 cards and this card will be your predicted card, which was the card that remained at the bottom of the pack after your volunteer had taken away his 12.
