Online Magic Shop

This is a very simple trick to perform and this is made much more effective by the fact that the Spectator will reveal the trick himself.

Effect:

You ask the Spectator to choose a card, after a series of splits to the pack, the Spectator is asked to spell a magic word and his chosen card is then revealed.  The real beauty of this trick is that you never actually touch the pack – the Spectator does all the work for you.

The Trick:

Take a full pack of cards ensuring that there are 52 cards in the pack.  Having selected a volunteer ask him or her to split the deck into two piles.  Have them choose one of the piles and then turn it over and memorise the bottom showing  card but never actually showing you that card.  Then ask them to place the pile that they have selected on top of the remaining pile.  Then ask them to deal the deck into four piles from left to right.
Start off by picking up one of the piles and asking the volunteer if their card is in that pile.
As you ask, start reassembling the deck in your hands but making sure that the pile that contains their chosen card goes on to the very top of the deck in your hands.  So if you pick a pile and their card is not contained in this pile it will go on the bottom of the pack that remains in your hands.

Now give the deck to your volunteer and ask them to deal the cards one at a time but face down and as they do so to spell out the word- “PRESTO”, essentially meaning that they deal six cards face down, having spelled the word the next card ie, the seventh card, is turned over to reveal their chosen card.

This is a trick that you can practice yourself as you do not need a Spectator to accomplish a degree of professionalism to complete.

Remember, practice makes perfect!
